I am always trying to think of activities that my 12 yr old and I can enjoy together.
For example this week, we are going to this new event here in Chicago called the Twilight Orchard being put on by the
Redmoon Theater and it looks so fun.
I will be taking loads of pictures and will post some her for sure!
Another activity that we participate in and one that I use to my own great benefit is exercise. And because I know that I have to keep it interesting or she will soon be sitting on the floor rolling her eyes, we mix it up.
Some of the things we do is play basketball (I was her teams assistant coach last yr much to her chagrin). I run her thru drills and hand & footwork exercises.
Another is working out via tapes & dvds. We have some old school MTV Grind workouts from the days of Eric Nies that are super fun and now I am thinking of trying
Yoga for Young Bodies.
I know, I am not a young body but its for young spirits also, and that I am! And it has Indian dance moves, classical and Bollywood (think Shakira Hips Don't Lie) and a section of moves for two.
Sounds perfect.
